Who doesn’t love a lake day, especially a summer lake day? Sometimes the only cure for a hot, summer day is the crisp water and breezy air that can only be found on a lake. Here are fun activities for any lake day this summer in the Triangle:

  • Fishing: Is there anything more exciting than catching a fish? We don’t think so. Renting a fishing boat and spending a relaxing day fishing on the lake is the perfect thing to do this summer. If you want to spice things up, think about having a competition with friends or family as to who can catch the biggest or the most fish. This is especially fun for young kids as they navigate fishing for the first time.

Water sports like skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing are an exhilarating way to spend a lake day for anyone who likes a little bit of thrill in their life. All About North Carolina Fishing License Requirements

Getting out on the lake is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful, spring weather in North Carolina. To fully enjoy the day, many choose to spend their time fishing. From relaxing on the boat waiting for a bite to the adrenaline rush of catching your first fish, it is truly one of the best experiences out there. However, it is important to follow North Carolina fishing license guidelines to ensure a fun yet safe day.

Here is some helpful information about NC fishing license requirements:

  1. Exception for obtaining your fishing license: Youth under age 16 are exempt from the requirement of any fishing license. This gives them the perfect excuse to get outdoors and try something new.
  2. Non-North Carolina residents’ licenses: Nonresidents may purchase a resident license while attending a university, college or visiting the state of NC. Reward yourself for working hard by scheduling some fun leisure time!   3. Free Fishing Day: July 4th is declared “Free Fishing Day,” and a fishing license is not required in any public waters on this date to promote the sport of fishing. With the warm weather during this time of the year, it is a great time to fish with friends and family.
