    • See above.
  • WHAT ABOUT ALL THESE LATE FEES?
    • Think about the reason you are on the water and who you are with.  You are enjoying TIME with FAMILY and FRIENDS.  We also enjoy the same.  That’s the reason for the schedule.  Time is money and we are away from our family and friends.  And if you are late returning, we are late working.  Thank you for your understanding.
    • AND if you are late getting there, we are waiting.  If you are late returning the equipment, we are waiting.  Half day boats or jet skis, you are holding up the next person that has rented the equipment that you are on.  Be responsible.

  • IS THERE A DELIVERY FEE TO FALLS LAKE?
    • No
  • WHAT IS THE DELIVERY FEE TO OTHER LOCATIONS?
    • $200 for other lakes. Keep in mind any other lake is 45 minutes to an hour away.  You are welcome to tow the craft yourself and save the delivery fee. When towing yourself, rental insurance is required.
    • If the equipment is towed by the renter, rental insurance is automatically added.
    • 2″ ball is required-No we do not have several laying around to loan out
  • WHERE IS THE BOAT DELIVERED TO?
    • Hwy 50 Boat Ramp, 13900 Creedmoor Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587 as early as 8am.
  • DIRECTIONS TO 13900 CREEDMOOR RD, WAKE FOREST?
    • FROM RALEIGH-Take Hwy 50/Creedmoor Rd North, go under 540, go under 98, cross the lake and 1st entrance on the right is the Boat Ramp, 13900 Creedmoor Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587 as early as 8am.
    • FROM DURHAM near 85-Take 85 North, cross the lake and bear right onto Hwy 15, continue right and at the 1st intersection turn right, at the stop sign turn left, stay to the right at the fork in the road (it’s obvious), at the stoplight, turn right onto Hwy 50 South/Creedmoor Rd, pass the birdhouse house (Gina Aiken-super nice lady), pass a convenience mart on the left (Say hey to Mr and Mrs Sandy Plains) and go about another 1/4 mile, passing the entrance to Sandling Beach and Beaver Dam, another 1/2 mile and when you see the lake in front of you, BEFORE crossing it, the entrance to the Boat ramp is on the left.  Hwy 50 Boat Launch 13900 Creedmoor Rd, Wake Forest
    • WE ARE JUST NORTH OF THE HWY 50 AND HWY 98 INTERSECTION
    • 50/98 INTERSECTION IS A FEW MILES NORTH OF HWY 50 AND THE 540 INTERSECTION
    • 50/540 INTERSECTION IS A FEW MILES NORTH OF CRABTREE VALLEY MALL
  • WILL YOU DELIVER TO OTHER RAMPS AT FALLS LAKE?
    • If previous arrangements are made and the boat is needed prior to 8am or after 9pm-for fishing purposes-we can make it happen with prior planning.
  • WHERE DO WE MEET YOU AT?
    • Hwy 50 Boat Ramp, 13900 Creedmoor Rd, Wake Forest.  There is a $7 entrance fee. While at the Boat Ramp, you will see the launching slips.  Park at the complete opposite end of the parking lot of the launching slips.  As you are walking towards the launching slips and looking at the lake on your right, on the right, before reaching the launching slips, is a path that leads to a small loading dock.  That is our loading point, a courtesy dock.  Especially on busy days, the launching slips are to put the boats in and take out of the water.  You will see others loading there and if you do, please look at the other boaters frustration while waiting on those that are not aware they are in the wrong or don’t care.  Also, people walking thru traffic is just dangerous.  Pulling around and backing is not everyone’s forte.  You will see others doing it, but Motor-Boaters have more respect and forethought, right?!!
  • DO WE PICK UP AT THE ADDRESS ON THE WEBSITE?
    • No.  2141 Sandy Plains Rd is our home and unless you are towing the watercraft, please meet us at the Hwy 50 Boat Ramp for a day on the water.
  • HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE BOOK UP COMPLETELY?
    • Some weekends all boats are reserved a week or longer in advance.  There have been holidays that we have a boat not rented until the night before or that morning.  The answer to this question is-as soon as you know a date, that is when you should book it. Need to call or text. Emails are nearly unmanageable between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Not entirely, but almost!
  • WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO RESERVE?
    • As soon as you are positive of a date, reserve/book it.
  • ARE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED?
    • Yes.  There is no office to walk in and grab a boat or ski.  If we have a boat, you can rent it same day.  No guarantees of availability on any given day.  You can call, text, email.  Even for same day rentals.  First check the website for Availability, if you aren’t sure or have questions, please call/text.  Mainly because we are not already in the water.  And if you just drive to our house, we may not be there to assist you.
  • WHAT TIMES ARE THE BOATS AVAILABLE?
    • Hwy 50 boat ramp opens at 8am and that is our 1st delivery of the day.  Last boat is out at 11am.  Returns are no later than 6pm.  We are flexible.  These times are preplanned prior to the day of rental.  Renters can’t just leave the boat at the dock or the skis beached.  They are the renter’s responsibility until you see and speak to a representative of Motor-Boatin LLC.
  • CAN YOU LEAVE THE BOAT UNATTENDED?
    • NO the answer to this question with any additional reasoning is still NO.  Hwy 50 boat ramp is a public ramp and no watercraft can be left unattended.  To go to the restrooms or your vehicle, still NO.  Have someone stay on the boat.  To go to the store, NO.  The obvious reason is it could be stolen or vandalized and it is your responsibility during the entire rental period.  It is the renter’s responsibility until they see and speak to a representative of Motor-Boatin LLC.   If you feel you will need to leave the boat ramp in your vehicle-please delegate someone to stay with and on the craft while you are gone.
    • If you rent a boat and a jet ski together,  PLEASE bring enough operators to take all equipment with you.  If you show with not enough operators, there are late pick up fees.  Thank you for your understanding.
  • WHAT TIMES ARE THE WAVERUNNERS AVAILABLE?
    • All Day and only for 1 hr or 2 hrs. You can strangle, I mean thank previous renters that do not know how to safely beach a ski or stay out of grass and then swear up and down they did nothing wrong and dispute damage charges, which I have won every one because it is the right thing.
  • DO YOU HAVE HALF DAY PONTOON RENTAL RATES?
    • YES.  Prices depend on the boat.  You Motor Boaters asked and received.  Some people just are not Water/Sun Babies like others and all day is just a little too much.  And Sunday church goers, now have the opportunity to rent after church and feel good about it! For people that do not understand the reason I do not rent a half day in the middle of the day, think like this..2 halves create a whole. Even in new math, that is correct. If a boat is rented 11-3…Would you rent the morning slot of 6am-10am? And the afternoon slot of 4pm-8pm would put us very late leaving the park and trespassing tickets are given to people in here after closing. The Rangers want to go home and we want to go home and you do not want another expense of paying the trespassing charges for you or us.
  • IS GAS INCLUDED?
    • Prices do not include fuel. You start with a full tank of gas and it is refueled when finished. Fuel consumption will vary depending on YOUR usage.  Motor-Boatin will fill it up for you and charge the card on file for your convenience.  We use non-ethanol gas.  This will allow you to enjoy your full rental time on the water.
    • DO NOT bring gas cans with gas thinking you will fill up on your own.  Odds are, the gas is not Non-Ethanol and is not what we put in the equipment.  And creates a repair bill for you.
  • WHERE CAN THE BOAT OR SKI BE FILLED UP ON THE LAKE?
    • You have the option to go to the only thing on the lake.  The Rollingview Marina. Great little grill and drinks, snacks are available there.  It is West of the Hwy 50 boat ramp.  If you decide to fill up there, please allow yourself plenty of time to get there, fill up and another 15-30 minutes to get to the dock at the preset time.  While at the Marina, please use bumpers and have someone stand with the equipment to keep it off the metal parts of the docks.  Damage caused by no bumpers and bouncing off the dock is still damage and costly.
  • WHAT IS ON THE LAKE?
    • The only business is Rollingview Marina.  There are several swimming areas and boat ramps.  Please remember every public swimming area will have a bathroom, but not all boat ramps have them. There are 2 Danger areas that you are not allowed in. KNOW THEM
  • WHEN DO YOU GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK?  The release/charges will be made within 2 business days of rental
    • Once the craft is returned, inspected and it is full of gas- the hold is released.  After that, it depends on how long your credit card company takes to release the hold.
    • If there are damages, you will be notified by email with an invoice showing line items and the reason for holding the damage deposit within 3 business days.  The gas is in addition to the $500 security deposit if there is any damages. The $500 is only a partial deductible held for damages. I believe $1000 is too much to be holding so I stick to $500 hold. However, if there is a claim, there is a deductible of $1000. The renter is responsible up to the $1000 mark. EVERY insurance claim has a deductible. Mine is no different.
  • CAN YOU RENT DURING THE WEEK?
    • Yes absolutely.  We recommend reservations and most days can do same day rental online.
  • PLEASE NOTE (these should be a given, but we’ve seen each one and many more that we just couldn’t list)
    • DO NOT ALL GATHER AND AT THE BACK OF THE BOAT AND TAKE A SELFIE OR GATHER AT THE BACK OF THE BOAT AT ONE TIME FOR ANY REASON.  In fact it is not safe to gather at either end or side at one time.  Many years ago, a boat flipped with people piled on the front and some drowned.  On the back, Pontoons have motors that are built to suck up and use water for cooling, not for running under it.
    • DO NOT LEAVE THE DOCK LINES ON THE DOCK-They belong to Motor-Boatin LLC and are not community lines to be left attached to the dock.
    • DO PULL THE BUMPERS UP FROM THE SIDE OF THE BOAT AS LEAVING THE DOCK AND PUT OUT AS YOU APPROACH
    • DO NOT SIT ON THE FRONT OF THE BOAT IN THE FISHING SEATS OR ON THE DECK WHILE THE BOAT IS IN MOTION
  • RENTAL INSURANCE AND DAMAGE DEPOSIT
    • There will be a $500 security deposit hold or authorization on your card the day or 2 before the rental.  If that hold is declined, $500 cash deposit or another card is required.  That is a no brainer to me.  Who doesn’t charge a damage deposit??
    • $50 per day per equipment for Rental Insurance
    • Renters are UNINSURED while renting our equipment without the Rental Insurance.  Yes we have business insurance, but you need insurance.  I have an accounting and IT background-do not claim to understand insurance fully.  However, they tell me Renters are UNINSURED so we offer/require Rental Insurance at $50 per day per equipment.
    • The cost of rental insurance is actually more than the $50 but when our insurance went up, it was too high to pass to you, so I am covering a small chunk of it with you.  The insurance is a daily policy to cover anything that happens that will cost money to repair/replace.  There is a REAL $1000 deductible. That deductible would be charged upon return of the equipment that is damaged.  If the repairs are less, a refund will be issued once we get an estimate.
    • The default answer is YES to rental insurance.
    • If you are doing watersports, you need it.  If it is our Tube you are towing, it is required.
    • If you are towing our equipment it is required.

THINGS TO HELP BE MORE RESPECTFUL AT THE DOCK

SCHEDULING TIMES-In a perfect world, you and I are there 15 minutes early.  We live in a Great World, not a Perfect World.  There is a fee if you arrive to pick up over 15 minutes after your scheduled time.  When determining your pick up times, please take into consideration the earliness of the day, the people in your party that drag their feet and don’t believe in late fees, traffic, life.  Please don’t set 10am (or any other time) then show up 10-15 minutes after that.  Just set the time for 11am.  Once you arrive, there is about 5-10 minutes of instructional time depending on questions and eager family/friends, then you are free.  Loading your things can be done after the instructional or better yet, have the rest of your party lug everything down while you stand in the shade and learn about the boat.  We try to be there, in the water waiting on you at your time.  Please be on time.  There’s a late pick up fee.  The Renter has to be there to accept the boat and an Operator, if other than the Renter is operating the craft.  We only release the boat to the Renter.  If everyone is there except the Renter, that is a late pick up.  Did you see there’s a late pick up fee?  On busy days, there are times the Rangers hold traffic.  That is beyond both of our controls and no problem with me and hope you understand as well-Certainly no charge if that’s the case.

BOARDING AND LOADING YOUR BOAT-The loading dock where we will meet you with the boat is small.  It accommodates 4 boats, if the operators are brave, 2 mostly.  Once we are thru the instructions, please quickly load the boat and move away in to the water.  Boater Courtesy is to not sit there waiting for the rest of your party to arrive.  Move into the cove and wait.  You can always dock again and pick the rest of the people up.

IF YOU SEE AN EMPTY MOTOR-BOATIN BOAT AT THE DOCK Please wait for someone to help you.  It may be another rental party’s boat.

The funny and head scratching questions to me are-I’m sure I will be adding more…

  • WHERE ARE THE BRAKES? or HOW DO I STOP THIS THING?——————-THERE ARE NONE AND USE REVERSE TO SLOW DOWN.
    • As much as I think those are hilarious, newbies to the operations of watercrafts have asked these.  The answer is There are no brakes.
  • HOW DO I STOP JET SKIS?—————-LET GO OF THE THROTTLE AND USE REVERSE IF NEEDED
    • You can’t.  Even the skis that have neutral, still do not have brakes.  Forward or Reverse and if you are just cruising in to beach somewhere, use the reverse to HELP maneuver.  You can use Reverse to slow down as you are slowly approaching something like the shoreline.  There is no stopping.  Stop the motor wwwaaayy before the shore if you forgot everything we told you and accidently panic and run ashore.  Damage will occur to the ski but stopping the engine will save the motor!
  • WHY ISN’T THE BOAT MOVING?——————IS THE MOTOR DOWN IN THE WATER??
    • I did have a customer call and I could hear the motor running, it was a new boat and the motors are quiet in the water.  I asked if the motor was in the water and (giggled) it was trimmed all the way up.  So I seriously say in a joking manner, “The motor works best in the water.”  The trim button is on the gear shifter and your thumb easily squeezes it to the up position.
  • THE BOAT WILL NOT CRANK——————-CHECK THE KILL SWITCH AND IS IT IN NEUTRAL
    • This could be valid.  Hopefully not with our newer boats.   99.5% is-be sure the shifter is in neutral and be sure the kill switch is attached.  Unless your entire party has gathered at the back of the boat and submerged the motor, then in that case-It ain’t gonna crank!  Stop trying, it is doing more damage! Call me.
    • If you are on the Jet Skis or Jet Boats and pulling someone, check the rope.  If it is under the boat or ski, call me and accept you are more than likely going to lose a portion of your deposit all while cutting your day shorter than planned.
  • WAVERUNNER OPERATORS AND RIDERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR SHORTS
    • I realize this sounds absurd.  However, I have to tell you.  I have to put it on the website.  If one falls from the ski and the jet stream does damage in the area where the Sun don’t shine, and you had a bikini bottom-male or female, the Insurance can refuse to cover damages.
    • There is a case where someone fell off a ski and the stream did internal damage.  The manufacturers are covering their bases and pushing Insurance Companies to do the same.  If you look at the compartment in front of the driver, it is very clear about this.
    • I had to read about this before I posted something that was stupid.  I’m glad I did.  The woman I read about was told not to hold on to the operator.  That was #1 in the wrong.  You absolutely DO hold on to the person in front of you.  She was told to hold on to the handles, which is behind the rider.  Do not do that.  I cannot understand how her injuries happened, but I can tell you, but they did.  She was seriously injured.  Several claims of this type of injuries on the internet.  We wish every one the best.  YES Hold on to the person in front.  Do not be at the back of a ski when the possibility of someone starting it is real.  Do not float around the jet ski when someone is sitting on it, they may accidently start it.  Do not leave the kill switch attached unless you are riding.  Do not hang off the back while the motor is running.

Below are a few things that will help you understand Motor Boatin LLC a little better

  • WHY AREN’T WE ANSWERING THE PHONE WHEN YOU ARE CALLING EVERY FEW MINUTES?—————WE ARE BUSY HELPING SOMEONE ELSE That is why we have the answering service. Option 1, Option 2, etc….
    • We love the the boat company and we are open for business all year.  And if we do not answer the phone the 1st time, we will return the messages and/or texts.  Texting is answered the quickest and emails are completely gone thru in the evening.  I glance thru emails thru out the day, but not regularly.  I respond quickly and all through out the day to text and calls.  Usually late evening to emails.  To address calling back to back and not leaving messages-please leave a message the first time you call.  If time is of the essence, say so and I can text or try to step away and return a quick call.  If you are excited enough to call and call trying to get us to answer, leave a message.  You will then be in front of the next person that leaves a message between your calling back to back.  And back to back calls, when I’m on the phone with another customer is just slowing down that conversation.
  • WHERE IS THE LAKE AT 2141 SANDY PLAINS RD, WAKE FOREST?——————-THRU THE WOODS BUT NO BOAT ACCESS
    • This is our Home.  A private road.  No turnarounds or passthroughs.  This is the address of our business.  If you visit, you can’t see the water, there isn’t a dock or ramp and you will probably meet our animals but they can’t help with reservations.  Check the website for availability and Call, Text or email for questions.  While you are there, feel free to look at the boats and skis and imagine yourself, family and friends out in the Open, Motor Boatin.  If you see the neighbors, don’t worry, they don’t bite.  Just know we will get a call before you get turned around.  Love them!  Much better than our security cameras.  OH and give us a wave to say Hello.  SMILE!
    • HOW DO YOU RENT IF WE AREN’T AT THE MARINA OR HAVE A DOCK?——-WE DELIVER TO 13900 CREEDMOOR RD, WAKE FOREST   We deliver the watercraft to the water specifically for you at preset times to Hwy 50 Boat Ramp, 13900 Creedmoor Rd, Wake Forest.  It is extremely important and respectful to be as prompt as possible and even more so if you are going to be late, please let us know.  Even tho we are dedicated to Motor Boatin and love meeting each of you, it is the weekend and we have family to enjoy as well.  So a well kept plan is good for everyone.

I think I’m going to start posting silly, nonsense, odd, funny things on social media. We call it the DumbDumb list. If you see it and you feel it is you, no it isn’t. Just laugh and use it for future reference.

  • WHO IS TYPING ALL THIS AND WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO OR MEETING AT THE DOCK? ALLOT OF PEOPLE NOWADAYS!
    • Suzanne-I do it all and I do not do it alone. I honestly enjoy and revel in operating this business.  I look forward to meeting everyone I’ve spoken to and hear the stories at the end of the day.  I deliver the boats too.  I used to have on here, my favorite thing is getting back to our Grandson, Jax for our Saturday playtime.  Jax is the reason for the boats being out by 11am and hopefully stay out until 5pm.  Well…that was the 1st few years of business, until 2019.  Now I can say, that’s still my favorite pasttime, but we have 3 favorite boys now.  Jax, Colt and Jayce. And they absolutely know BOATS BOATS and how to point!! Motor Boatin LLC  has grown into an all day thing now.  We start delivering at 8 and have several scheduled every 30 minutes until 3pm. Our 6pms have meshed into 7pm returns. We are still trying our best to stick to 6pm when we can, so we can all go home and enjoy our family.
    • Randy, my Hubby, is behind all this.  I wanted a boat!  He isn’t a water baby like me and knew that we wouldn’t put it to use like I was thinking we would.  He checked the cost of renting vs owning and found there are very minimal options for boat rentals at Falls Lake.  Blah Blah..here we are.  Turns out that we enjoy helping others make memories on our boats more than we thought we would.  Great idea Hubby!  He no longer helps with customers because we’ve become too Hi Tech for him.  He is the one with the beard and business focus.  Ask him about Gold Mining or Diamonds 😉 You may catch a glimpse in the evenings if we have renters that, eh hum, lost track of time and that time includes a late fee. Know the rules.
    • Last year we had a CREW!! Hope is on the phones again and we have a few people that help with that. She’s very soft spoken, but if you are asking nonsense questions, she will absolutely tell you that is nonsense. Melody is enjoys you all as much as I do and loves catching you sneaking your pets on without putting it on the reservations.  She is also more than likely the person you will see at the dock if I’m not there. Melody is also quicker to tell you straight up don’t act the fool. Charles is so laid back, but he is retired from Rikers and he will talk to you straight and very fortunate for him to be here for his 3rd season.  He loved it so much last year, he is coming back.  But parttime this go ’round.  OK a public favorite is Connor. He is the Lead Dock Hand/basically a manager this year. Ian is back and our very own TikTok celeb. Cade, he is the best by the book and you will not get away with it person that we all need to follow his example! Sydney is sweet but I hear when she doesn’t realize we are watching, she is rather stern. You go-girl! As for our drivers, we have great ones. They also help with customers. Buck, Seth, Eric, Gavin and Stephanie. I can’t rave enough about them. They are the key to getting the equipment in the water. They are also the ones that get us out of the park at night. Each of these guys and girls and men and women and…that covers everyone-Each of them are keys to making this business work. Motor-Boatin could not function as smooth as it does any other way. They are family to me, not blood, but by choice and I love each one. Fingers crossed Evan and Kinleigh come back-I miss you 2!
    • We do need some more Official Motor-Boaters.  Know anyone that really enjoys making money while dealing with boats? Drivers are needed and Dock Hand Assistants for afternoons  Call me or text us and be sure to ask for Suzanne…919-800-9716
